fascinating what some people can make with "trash"

I think I'm going to start saving toilet paper rolls....  so friends if you find me with your empty roll stuffed in my pocket when I leave... I'm not crazy only a little bit crazy.
But seriously have you seen what some totally
creative people are making with this... ummm   trash??
Here are just a few things that I think are totally cool:
this totally does not look like a toilet paper roll

Fall!!

this looks like a piece of a wrought iron railing .   totally cool.

wow!

So have you made anything cool with
"trash" recently?
I just might give this a try someday:)

My husband is truly going to think I'm nutsy when
I tell him I want to start saving toilet paper rolls.!

To Be or Not To Be?

I know I have been MIA these last few months, I was seriously thinking about quitting the blog thing altogether, but as I sat in front of the computer thinking... maybe this isn't for me and I should just delete this....I couldn't do it. It represents change in my life that I so desperately need.  It is like a therapy "of sorts" for my healing heart.  So I think I'm going to give it another try.... only this time maybe give it my all.   So I have a few small tutorials to share over the next couple of days/ weeks.... whatever it takes to get myself going again.

Ten Things Women Need To Remember About Men

I was just surfing the web, not looking for anything particular and found
this great list that I  want to share.
Now some of you out there might think these things are no- brainers,  but I have to say
that a few of them gave me " a lightbulb moment"  and  have really helped me to
understand my husband a little better.

I am a person who shows him my love with hugs and compliments, which is all fine and
good.... UNLESS you have the misguided opinion that HE shows his love in the same way.
and will make you think... "Well if he isn't saying
or doing those things   ( quick hugs, compliments...etc)  that he must not be feeling them in his heart".
Which in most cases is just not true and can cause unnecessary and avoidable issues.

So here is a list of ten important things to remember
  1. Men say " I Love You" with actions
Some men prefer to express their feelings through actions rather than words. Your guy may say "I love you" by fixing things around the house, tidying up the yard, or even taking out the trash -- anything that makes your world a better place.

     2. Men Take Commitment Seriously

Men have a reputation for being afraid to commit. But the evidence suggests men take marriage seriously. They may take longer to commit because they want to make sure they are on-board for good. In a survey of currently married men, 90% say they would marry the same woman again.

     3. He Really Is Listening

When you're listening to someone talk, you probably pipe in with a "yes" or "I see" every now and then. It's your way of saying, "I'm listening." But some guys don't do this. Just because a man isn't saying anything doesn't mean he's not listening. He may prefer to listen quietly and think about what you're saying.

      4.   Shared Activities Form Bonds

This one includes more than just the obvious.... =)
Men strengthen their relationships primarily through shared activities more than by sharing thoughts or feelings. For many men, activities like sports  make them feel closer to their partner. So go ahead and let him see just how bad you are at basketball, it's not  about you pretending to love what he loves or posing as a great athlete but about sharing time doing something that HE loves.

       5.  Men Need Time for Themselves

While shared activities are important, men also need time for themselves. Whether your guy enjoys golf, gardening, or working out at the gym, encourage him to pursue his hobbies, while you make time for your own. When both partners have space to nurture their individuality, they have more to give to each other."

        6. Men Learn From Their Fathers

If you want to know how a man will act in a relationship, get to know his dad. Some say men learn about their relationship role by watching and listening to their fathers. How they are with each other and how the father relates to the mother can predict how a man will relate to his wife.

       7.  Men Let Go Faster Than Women

Women tend to remember negative experiences longer and may have lingering feelings of stress, anxiety, or sadness. In contrast, men are less likely to dwell on unpleasant events and tend to move on more quickly. So while you may still want to talk about last night's argument, your guy may have already forgotten about it.    So I'm thinking LET IT GO.... he did.

        8. Men Don't Pick Up on Subtle Cues

Men are more likely to miss subtle signals like tone of voice or facial expressions. And they are especially likely to miss sadness on a woman's face. If you want to make sure your guy gets the message, be direct.

        9. Men Respond to Appreciation

Showing appreciation for your guy can make a big difference in the way he acts. Take parenting. Studies show that fathers are more involved in care-giving when their wives value their involvement and see them as competent.

        10. Men May Stray When Needs Aren't Met

If a man doesn't feel loved and appreciated in his relationship, he may turn elsewhere for satisfaction. For one man, that may mean burying himself in work. Another may develop a fixation on sports or video games. And some men cheat. To avoid this, partners need to work together to meet each others needs.

Hope one or more of these will help you in the near future....
Anyone have any other insightful things about men we don't know?   Please share !

I found the answer to my question at  The Art of Doing Stuff
She says to pour a whole box of  kitty litter in the suitcase,
close the lid and leave it for a week.
Bye Bye  yucky odor

I bought this old suitcase at a thrift store.... and Love it.

This is where I had it last week....

and this is how I changed it up after housecleaning this past week
Now I love it and all, but it has this annoying "oldish" smell that no matter what I do... it lingers.

Any ideas what might work to get rid of the smell??

We got birds

I have been noticing recently that when I leave the house, as soon as I open our door a bird flies out
of this tree:      Yes this is normal, but I literally mean EVERY time I leave the house.

And then I realized Oh my gosh there is nest in there!   I was so excited!   I know this is nothing new.birds build nests in trees all the time, It's what they do.    But not always in MY tree. I had been
wondering if were  eggs in it.....   and YES there are little blue eggs!!   so cute
I snapped this picture real quick after I saw the mommy bird fly away....I didn't touch anything, just held the camera above it and......Would you look at those beauties, just in time for Easter :)                        I am so fascinated with nature :)
But now I'm worried.... will the mother leavc the nest if it feels unsafe?  I hope not. We come in and out of our front door quite often ( it's a must... gotta go to work and all )   lol    and it flies away every time.      So if you know anything about birds.....   I'm wonderin.

I'll be honest, this has totally made my day
